SRK criticizes village chief for assaulting woman

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan criticized the act of a village chief from the Muktsar district of Punjab, belonging to the Shiromani Akali Dal, who was caught by television news cameras slapping a woman who had come to the party office to seek a permanent job position.

"Just saw a male Sarpanch slap and rough up a woman teacher on tv...disgusting & should be punished for sure," Khan tweeted.

Baljinder Singh, that man who assaulted the woman was identified as Baljinder Singh, the village chief (sarpanch) of the Daula village in Punjab

News footage showed, dozens of policemen intervene only to stop the sarpanch from striking her again.

The woman, a teacher by profession, was waiting at the party offices for the Chief Minister's daughter-in-law and lawmaker Harsimrat Kaur Badal, media reports said.
