Aamir-Kiran gave the name after freedom fighter and Aamir's 'great grand uncle' Moulana Abdul Kalam Azad.
'Mr. Perfectionist' announced the name of his son on his public Facebook page.
"Hey guys, most excited to share with y'all that we have finally chosen a name for our baby boy... Azad. Azad Rao Khan, " he posted.
"I left the final choice to Kiran, and she has named him after my great grand uncle Maulana Azad, the great freedom fighter, whom the family is most proud of. Azad means free or liberated. We want to thank everyone for their warm wishes and blessings, and needless to say we are absolutely overjoyed and feel most blessed. Much love. a, " he mentioned in his status update.

Azad Rao Khan was born on Dec 1 through in-vitro fertilization (IVF) to a surrogate mother at a private clinic in Mumbai.
The couple had to take up IVF process due to medical complications.
Aamir announced about the new member of their family through a press statement: "It gives us the greatest joy to share with you the good news of the birth of our baby boy.
This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty.
"Due to medical complications, we were advised to have a baby through IVF-surrogacy, and we feel very grateful to the Almighty that all has gone well. We are humbled by the greatness of God, the miracles of science, and the kindness and love of our families and friends in being there for us while respecting our privacy. We seek your good wishes and blessings for our child."
Azad is Kiran's first baby. She suffered a miscarriage in 2009.
Aamir has two children-Junaid and Ira- from his first wife Reena Dutta.
Aamir and Reena put an end to their 15-year-old marriage in 2002. The B-town actor married Kiran in 2005.
