It looks like Tanuja Chandra's 'Hope and a Little Sugar', will see Anupam Kher in one of his career best
performances. According to Chandra, only an actor of the range and versatility of Anupam could have played
the role that forms the basis of the film and its storyline. In the film, Kher plays the role of a retired army
officer settled in the US, who loses his son (played by Vikram Chatwal) in the 9/11 tragedy.
"Prior to the tragedy he is hilarious to the core with his amazing sense of comic timing, whereas the latter
portions post 9/11 portray him in an extremely tragic role," Tanuja reveals, adding that she was
overwhelmed by Kher's immense potential when she wrapped up the last schedule of the film in US a month
ago.
Chandra is currently readying to leave for the US later this month to work on the editing of the film, after
which it will be complete by mid-March. Meanwhile, it is learnt that the international rights of the film have
already been sold out while the Indian distributors are yet to be finalized.
