Over the weekend, Bipasha Basu's diary was filled with the Midnight Mass, Christmas lunch and partying with friends. And the super fit actress did all she could to indulge her super sweet tooth. Bips talks about Christmas:
X'mas for me
While growing up in Kolkata, Christmas was a big celebration there. Even today, the streets in Kolkata are buzzing in high festive spirits, especially the Park Street. My sister and I would put up stockings as kids and mom and dad would give us gifts.
That's been a tradition. And then when I came to Mumbai, I stayed with my best friend Susan Woodham's family in Bandra. They literally adopted me.
I became their seventh kid, and Christmas is an important time for them and so it has always been important for me too. Also, I have a lot of Christian friends; so going with them to the Midnight Mass, Christmas lunch, and Christmas Eve celebrations has always been a tradition.
Food food
And then of course, Christmas means yummy food. I love all the non-beef delicacies in the Christmas spread. From marzipans to the karkal, everything is my favourite. I love going to Christmas lunch at my friend Dian and her mother Queenie's place.
Queenie prepares the most mouthwatering Christmas lunches every year; my seat is always booked at their lunch table.
My favourites are potato mutton chops, chicken rolls, coconut pancakes and Christmas cake that Quinee makes. I just love having them as dessert and then again during tea time. In fact, I am a big fan of High Teas, especially the ones in London.
They have the most amazing spread of desert, tea cakes, cones with clotted cream and jams. I never miss it when I'm there. And of course, if the Christmas desert spread has some Indian mithai's like ladoo and jalebi, it just makes my day.
On my wishlist
The one thing I've asked Santa is for him to grant everyone good health. After all, good health is the key to all the happiness in life -- be it wealth, love or any other material gain.
And, I've been a little selfish and asked Santa for two types of roles -- action and rom-com. Also, this Christmas, I've prayed that in the coming year, all my films become blockbusters.
