This year's Oscars could see the end of lengthy speeches and long walks to the stage for the winners, as
organisers prepare to break with the traditions of Hollywood's biggest awards ceremony.
On February 27, winners in some categories will be presented with the award at their seats, sparing them
the walk to the aisle. In some others, all the nominees will have to stand on stage while the envelope is
being opened, reported Sky News .
"It is complicated and I guess it could be a complete mess. But I don't think so," said Oscar ceremony
producer Gil Cates.
"Just say one unexpected thing," Cates told the stars, requesting all nominees to keep their speeches to a
minimum and to avoid a long list of 'thank you's'.
The debate is heating up with some critics saying the new measure is not fair to those nominees who lose.
