Being launched in a home-production and having the entire Deol family standing firmly behind him is no
doubt a great way to start a career. But Abhay Deol has his head firmly on his shoulders and is well aware
of the responsibility it entails.
"It is no doubt a great advantage being from the Deol family in the sense the curiosity factor of being Sunny
and Bobby's younger brother is already there. On the other hand, it also means confirming to some
pre-conceived expectations and notions. If I don't, the backlash is likely to be even stronger," says the
down-to-earth and unassuming Abhay, who is eagerly looking forward to the response for his debut film,
Socha Na Tha.
The film confirmed for a February 18 release, has generated a fair amount of curiosity in the market after its
recently released promos and Abhay has been closely following the response they are generating.
"We were initially a bit skeptical whether the newly released promos had given away the mystery of the film
to the audiences but on second thoughts they give a true feel of the film and what it is all about. It is not the
case where you see some very clean promos and go to the theatre to realize that the film qualifies for adult
viewing more than anything else," Abhay tells you.
