Recently, Ranveer Singh got to live Tom Hank's character from the Hollywood hit, The Terminal. Before you think it's another inspiration borrowed from the West, let us tell you it was for real.
The extreme weather conditions in north India have severely affected commuters, forcing the actor to stay put at Jammu airport for a few hours.
It is learnt that Ranveer was to reach Dalhousie last Saturday, so he could shoot for the next spell of Lootera. However, he was oblivious to the after-effects of the snowstorm that has thrown life out of gear up north.
A source from the unit tells us that soon after landing at Jammu airport on Saturday morning, the actor was to head directly to Dalhousie, which is a four and half hour drive.
"However, after landing, Ranveer heard that he couldn't leave immediately as the roads were blocked. So he decided to wait at the airport for a while, " says our source adding that finally the actor got restless.
"Each time Ranver wanted to leave, he was told that he'd have to wait a while more. Finally, after over five hours he decided to check into a hotel, instead of waiting.
Moreover the road to Dalhousie was under four feet of snow, so it wasn't going to be cleared in a day, " reveals the source.
When contacted, producer Vikas Bahl confirmed the incident, adding that he was also trying to reach the location.
"When we heard that Ranveer had to stay overnight on Saturday, we thought the bad weather would clear up by morning.
But it continued to snow, so the clearing of roads is taking longer, " said the producer who finally flew to Jammu on Monday morning.
Bahl also told us that a part of his crew was stuck at Pathankot. "We have a month-long schedule in Dalhousie and my crew is determined to shoot all the scenes come what may, " he said.
