A unit member reveals that Patel had been giving Bhagnani a tough time. "She kept haggling about her remuneration." Her secretary Rikku Rakeshnath also repeatedly harassed Bhagnani. "He would tell the producer that that his heroine had another lucrative offer from the South, and those dates were clashing with Shaadi No 1. Rakeshnath assured Bhagnani that Amisha would act in his film provided he doubled her price."
Bhagnani didn't like the idea of increasing Patel's price after the disastrous Vaada that featured the actress in the lead role. Bhagnani hasn't even bothered to reply to Rakeshnath.
However, Bhagnani admits, "The unit couldn't wait for Amisha's dates nor could we postpone shoots. Most of the combination dates of actors would've gone haywire."
But he denies that she demanded a hike in her remuneration. "Nobody makes such demands these days. She had her dates blocked for a film down South and she did try to accommodate us, but couldn't. Even Rikku didn't get back to me, and that's how Ayesha Takia came into the picture." informs Bhagnani.
Shaadi No 1 marks David Dhawan's return to Puja Films. The film boasts of a huge star cast including Fardeen Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan, Sharman Joshi, Soha Ali Khan and Koena Mitra.
