Sold out on day one. Author Shobhaa De's new book on marriage, Spouse, has sold 10,000 copies within
a day of it hitting the market Tuesday.
"Spouse has created publishing history in India," De tells. "(It has gone) into a reprint on day one.
"I'm proud of that and glad that my 14th title is a best-seller too, like the earlier ones."
Born in Maharashtra in 1948, De has been one of India's top columnists and authors. With a degree in
psychology, De founded and edited three popular magazines - Stardust, Society and Celebrity.
Her best-selling novels include Socialite Evenings, Sultry Days, Starry Nights, Sisters, Speedpost and
Surviving Men.
