Jennifer Lopez has cancelled an album tour to Europe and a red carpet appearance at the charity premiere of her new film in London after calling in sick.

The pop diva, 35, who was scheduled to attend the premiere of "Shall We Dance" with co-star Richard Gere in a fundraiser event for tsunami victims in Asia Friday, called off the trip saying she was too ill to travel, Ananova reported.

"I very much wanted to be in London but unfortunately I'm not well. At the advice of my doctors I'm unable to travel," Lopez said in a statement.

"Being sick has also caused me to cancel my European album tour. Please accept my sincerest apologies as I have to remain in Los Angeles.

"This film was a labour of love for me and I want to thank everyone involved in bringing it to you, from the cast, to the film director, to the crew."
