The five-day fashion event will start March 2 here and will see unique collections of 83 designers this year. Bal says that the unique collections are the star of the fashion show and not the celebrities.
"On the ramp if you open a button or open it for your wife or do such act ... these things are way away from fashion. I get so pissed at times - no matter how hard a designer might have worked on his designs but the media only write about the celebrities. Nothing is written about the collections. Designers are sidelined," Bal said.
"If I make some film stars walk the ramp then it has always been a request by the sponsors, it has never been my opinion," he added.
This time the designers will bring the Indian textiles to the fore as a tribute to Indian textiles as LFW will dedicate a day to Indian craftsmanship and textiles.
"My fashion is title under construction. We are using Indian crafts this year with hand works. It is very modern and contemporary," said Bal.
