Anil Kapoor has said no to Rensil d'Silva's second film to be produced by Karan Johar. Apparently his character was that of a cop gunning down an anti-social element. And Anil is already playing that - in Sanjay Gupta's Shootout At Wadala.

This is the latest in a series of missed collaborations between Anil Kapoor and Karan Johar. Apparently the two are quite fond of each other. Several roles in the past have been offered to Anil. But nothing worked out. Rensil's film - a cop-and-outlaw thriller was almost decided.

Says a source, "Rensil had been stressing over the casting of his film for months now. With Anil stepping into the cop's role and Emraan Hashmi in the outlaw's role, things had finally fallen into place." But now with Anil opting out, Rensil is back looking for a leading man.

Says a director close to Anil, "Anil never repeats roles. And the character in Rensil's film appeared to be similar to the one he is playing in Sanjay Gupta's film. So he has said no." Both Anil and Rensil remained unavailable for comment.
