Designer Karl Lagerfeld has denied reports that he had verbally attacked actress Nicole Kidman.

Karl was quoted in a British newspaper article criticising Kidman's 'bizarre body make-up' and 'lack of breasts'.

"Words have been invented that I did not speak. Everybody knows I hold Nicole in the highest regard both personally and professionally," a website quoted him as saying.

Meanwhile, according to Kidman's spokesperson, the Australian actress had already brushed aside the comments, saying, "This sounds impossible to me."

"He adores Nicole and they have longstanding mutual respect for each other as professionals," the spokesperson said.
