TV actress Rakshanda Khan says she is not interested in doing item numbers or acting in films.
Rakshanda, who stars in the popular serial "Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi" and "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi",
was in Agra for a fashion show at Shilpgram where the Taj Mahotsava has been resumed after a 48-hour
break due to a devastating fire.
She said she is "neither doing item numbers nor interested in acting in films".
Rakshanda said it was wrong to suggest that Ekta Kapoor, the producer of "Kyunki...", was promoting
extra-marital relationships through her serials.
TV serials, she said, were not encouraging false values or double standards but creating awareness in
society, particularly among women.
Talking to students of IIFT, a fashion institute, Rakshanda said: "Beauty of the body was as important as
beauty of the mind. Workouts in the gym, good nutritious food and decent behaviour with people will take
you to success," she said.
She told aspiring models that only those who had the conviction should join the profession, which requires
hard work and a lot of struggle.
