Actor Vijay Raaz, who arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday after being released by Dubai police, claimed that
he was innocent and that the urine examination by the police had tested negative for drugs.
Vijay, who was released last night by UAE police, tells, "charges against me were withdrawn after the
test".
Admitting that around six grams of 'ganja' had been found in his bag, he said, "Yes the police recovered the
drugs from my bag. But honestly speaking, I have no clue how they reached my bag".
To a query whether he suspected any foul play, he said, "I do not know of any such enemy who would like
to harm me. I believe that I have a lot of friends and fans who genuinely love me and my work. In fact a lot
of people here in the industry prayed for my release".
"I didn't suspect anyone and I cannot point fingers until I have some substantial proof", he said.
"The police asked me to sign some papers which were in Arabic. I signed the papers without
understanding what was written on it. I think the papers contained some charges against me, but I am still
not clear what was written on it. There was some kind of miscommunication and matters got worse after I
singed the papers", he said.
However, the actor claimed that he continued to co-operate with the police there since he knew he was
innocent. "A subsequent urine test proved that I am innocent", he said.
