Jeetendra was born in Amritsar, Punjab in Apr 7, 1942 to Amarnath and Krishna Kapoor and Shankar was born in Varanasi in Apr 7, 1920.
As a young boy, Shankar toured Europe and India with the dance group of his brother but later gave up dancing in 1938 to study Sitar playing.
Jitendra has contributed a lot to the Hindi film industry and that earned him Zee Filmfare 2012's lifetime achievement award, for working over 50 years in Bollywood.
The actor tasted success in myriad Hindi movies that include ‘Meri Awaz Suno', ‘Kinara', ‘Khushboo', ‘Tamacha', ‘Kathputli' and ‘Ek Nari Ek Brahmachari' to name a few.
On the other hand, Shankar who was awarded India's highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna and received three Grammy awards has popularised Indian music in the Western world with success.
