The actor had to gorge on chocolates and ice creams for his role in Fatso

Ranvir Shorey is willing to go to any length to do justice to his role in his upcoming film, even if it means piling on the kilos. The actor gained 18 kgs for Rajat Kapoor's upcoming film Fatso, which is releasing soon.

This is the third instance where the actor is collaborating with the director. Ranvir plays an overweight guy who is in love with the character played by Gul Panag.

The actor even got high blood pressure due to the weight he had to put on. A source close to him reveals how he managed to add those extra kilos, "It was a lot of hard work. He was asked to binge on foods like ice creams, potatoes, rice and chocolates.

He drank a lot of beer too. But he avoided deep fried food, ghee products and pastries. He took advice from the doctors, nutritionist and physiotherapist who guided him through the process of putting on and losing weight without harming his body."

The comedy film is already a subject of much discussion overseas, having travelled to several international festivals including the South Asian International Film Festival in New York, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and Shanghai International Film Festival, amongst many others.
