Actress Sugandha Garg, host of "It Happens Only in India", says that the travel show is unique as it took her to lesser known
places in the country where she stumbled upon quirky stories.
Usually travel shows take you on exotic locales, luxury hotels and cruise parties, but "It Happens Only in India" is different. The 13
episode series, which goes on air on Fox Traveller Sunday, will take viewers to places like Bundi in Rajasthan, Sindhudurg in
Maharashtra, Jamnagar in Gujarat and Bidar in Karnataka.
Talking about the show, Sugandha, known for her roles in films like "Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na" and "Tere Bin Laden", said: "After
doing this show, I am overwhelmed. The show takes the viewer on a ride as a traveller to places that one thought never existed."
"There is no way India can be canvassed in one show, but we tried to show a little of the lot. We have stories from the hidden
interior parts like - coffee processed from the droppings of a civet cat; ulta 'Ramayana' and 'Bhagvad Gita', which can be read only
with a mirror; street dentists who practice on the footpath and more," she told.
Married to Rahgu Ram, the man behind MTV's popular show "Roadies", she is an avid traveller.
"I love travelling and I can travel anytime I am asked to. I am a bagpack person and hate travelling by air. My journey has to be by
road. Traveling makes us a better person because one gets to see the world around," said the chirpy and tomboy actress.
Right now she is planning a trip to Ladakh with husband Raghu.
