Reports said Jaya Bachchan has complained to Hamid Ansari, who is the Rajya Sabha chairperson and Vice-President and said she was hurt that the camera panned on her during Rekha's swearing-in.
She was livid that her personal equation with Rekha, a Bollywood rival with whom her husband Amitabh Bachchan was romantically linked at one time, was sensationalized by none other than the public broadcaster.
The footage was picked up by the private TV channels to further sensationalize the coverage and present Rekha's oath taking with a bit of Bollywood spice.
Jaya Bachchan, earlier reports said, had got her seat in the Rajya Sabha changed so that she and Rekha were not caught in the same frame during live coverage of the upper house.
Hamid Ansari reportedly has taken the complaint of Jaya Bachchan seriously and promised action, according to TV reports.
During private award functions camera has often panned on either Rekha or Jaya during presentation of awards to either or them or to Amitabh Bachchan to play up on the past relationship between them, but what angered the Samajwadi leader is that state-run TV put the focus on her during Rekha's oath taking.
Bollywood diva Rekha took oath as Rajya Sabha member on Tuesday and spent around nineteen minutes in the Upper House of the Parliament on the first day at her new workplace.
