Imtiaz Ali was approached to essay a role in a film starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tanishtaa Chatterjee.

When National Award-winning director Mangesh Hadawale and producer Mahaveer Jain narrated the script, Imtiaz liked it, but he was not too keen on acting.

After seeing the film, he felt an emotional connect and agreed to present the film so that his name could enable it to reach out to many people.
