Catherine Zeta-Jones who is back after a break with 'Rock Of Ages' talks about music

In an interview conducted via e-mail, Catherine Zeta-Jones reminisces that in the 1980s, she had a great head of hair and wore eye -catching make-up.

Also that she used to follow the music scene in Los Angeles from afar as the Welsh actress shuttled between Wales and London. She even goes a step ahead and nostalgically states, "Those were the good times."

Ironically, the 42-year-old beauty plays a villainous character in the film who feels rock ‘n' roll is satanic and hence creates a campaign to clean up what she believes is the real filth of her city's streets: rock music.

But on a personal level, Catherine loves music and thinks it's absurd to demonise one particular genre. "Being an entertainer myself, I completely disagree that any form of performing art can be damaging to the society," she asserts.

However, Patricia didn't even exist in the original script and was introduced by the writers of her forthcoming film. The Oscar-winning actress confesses that she hasn't danced after Chicago — the very movie that fetched her the coveted golden statuette! Besides, she had another baby since then.

In fact, the last film she appeared in was The Rebound back in 2009. So after a hiatus of three years, this mother of two found it a challenge to make a comeback in a musical but according to her, rehearsal is the key. And that's what she did for the role.

On being asked about her thoughts on Bollywood, Catherine admits, "I have watched a few Indian films. And at the risk of sounding cliched I think they are amazing given the song-dance routine followed by most Hindi films."
