"The film definitely is a dark and brooding one, but it is a misconception that it is a psycho-thriller. I would rather call it an intense love story of two people who are separated from each other," Sanjay said.
He said the unique style of story telling would distinguish the film. "I wouldn't call it a stylized film in its technique. The distinguishing feature is its very realistic approach towards the narrative."
He had earlier wanted to make the film in black and white sepia. "I had felt it would perfectly match the sinister and dark mood of the film. But the idea was dropped due to commercial reasons."
Sanjay said he was quite pleased with the way the film had shaped up. "Both John and Priyanka have come up with stellar performances, particularly John, who has given a very intense performance in the film."
"Karam", with music by Vishal-Shekhar, hit theatres Friday.
