It was quite a brave step for Talat Aziz, who has in the past admitted to having two left feet when it comes to dancing, to have participated on a dance relaity show on TV.
He however was recently ousted from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. Instead of complaining about the loss, the veteran musician is looking forward to newer ventures, albeit in his favourite medium — music.
Aziz says, "I think I didn't get enough chance to learn or show anything on the programme as I was there only for two weeks. But this is the nature of the show."
And now that he has time again on his hands, Aziz is gearing up for his new project. The singer is currently working on his next venture — Mehfil-e-Sama, a new concert that will launch new talents from music genres that are almost on the brink of disappearing from the country.
Aziz feels that new talented singers should be given opportunities to fill up spaces left empty within the music industry, due to the demise of stalwarts like Jagjit Singh and Mehdi Hassan.
He adds, "Nowadays, nobody knows what is Tapas or Thumri. A leading music company and I have decided to revive the classical forms of music."
