A film on the life of Dhananjoy Chatterjee, who was hanged to death last year for raping and killing a minor girl in Kolkata, is being shot near here.

"Mera Jeevan Kora Kagaz" is being shot in the snowy environs of Kufri, about 15 km uphill from this Himachal Pradesh capital.

In the film, directed and scripted by Chander Barelvi, Dhananjoy will be played by Surya Dutta while Kamakshi plays his wife. Both the lead actors are debutants.

The crew is currently shooting one of the movie's seven songs in and around the resorts of Kufri.

"The film is bringing Dhananjoy Chatterjee's life to the big screen," said director Barelvi, whose earlier films include "Lalach" and "Ek Bhool, Choti Si".

The shooting started over the weekend and will go for a few more days.
