In her short stint in Bollywood, this actress has made a name for herself as ''the Indian counterpart of the
spice girls.''
So, its only natural that Sameera Reddy, named Bollywood's Jennifer Lopez by filmmaker Sanjay Gupta
after her performance in the recent hit 'Musafir', recently swapped places with the British Spice Girl Emma
Bunton (popularly known as 'baby spice') to appear in a popular British television series.
Sameera, whose performance in the highly-successful ‘Musafir' came in for praise in film circles, will soon
appear in a popular British television show ‘Casualty', considered the world's longest running and most
successful medical television drama series, as part of a BBC's ‘celebrity swap' between her and Emma
Bunton(a member of the British pop group Spice Girls), trade sources say.
Sameera's will appear in an episode of ‘Casualty' on BBC 1 on March 19.
It was last year that the BBC approached Sameera to undertake an exchange programme with Emma
Bunton. The sources said the BBC wanted a Bollywood actress with a metropolitan image ''who can bring
a feel of Bollywood to England'' to live Emma Bunton's life.
As part of the 'celebrity swap' in November last year, Emma came to Mumbai and did all the things
Sameera did. Emma's activities at Mumbai included being dressed up by Mumbai designer Rocky S and
later filming a song sequence with filmmaker Sammir Dattani and Soha Ali Khan for Hriday Shetty's 'Pal
Tham Gaya', which also stars Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia.
Thereafter, Sameera went to London and Bristol to "get a feel of Emma Bunton's lifestyle" including
making a guest appearance in the hit series 'Casualty'.
In the March 19 episode of 'Casualty', Sameera will play the character of Anita.
