Item numbers have become a staple in most Bollywood films, but composer Sneha Khanwalkar, who has given the industry some unique tunes with "Gangs Of Wasseypur", says they are merely for promotion purposes.

She doesn't find anything wrong with item songs.

"Item songs are promotional songs. If it can tease, attract and seduce the listeners to watch the film, then why not, " she said.

Some of Khanwalkar's recent hits include "Womaniya" and "Hunter".
