Actor gladly wrapped up his shoot early to abide by security measures on the eve of PM Manmohan Singh's visit to the city
Last week, Akshay Kumar received some special visitors on the sets of his new home production with Himesh Reshammiya at Mukesh
Mills in Colaba.
Incidentally, some senior officials from the Colaba Police Station had come to meet the actor and request him to wrap up the schedule
for the following day early as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was scheduled to visit the locality.
They did not want any
last-minute security issue to crop up. A source informs, `Senior Inspector Vilas Sawant from the Colaba Police Station requested
Akshay that the unit be packed up by 4 pm on Friday and the shoot to start after 2 pm on Saturday.
However, the normal shoot time was from 7 am to 6 pm in the evening. Akshay and co-producer Reshammiya immediately obliged as
the actor had to anyway fly to Latur to be with his friend Riteish Deshmukh, after the latter's father passed away.`
The source adds, `The unit wrapped up the shoot by 4 pm and did not shoot on Saturday, as they wanted to honour the request and
help the cops maintain security measures. The cops were extremely happy and thanked both Himesh and Akshay for their actions.`
Rakesh Upadhyay, business partner of Himesh Reshmmiya confirmed the news.
