Mumbai-based artist paints the actress in her Silk Smitha avatar from 'The Dirty Picture'

With her role in The Dirty Picture, Vidya Balan not only won over the audience but also Mumbai-based artist Viveek Sharma. The J J School of Arts alumni has captured the actress on his canvas.

The artist, who has in the past also participated in Tina Ambani's group art show, says, `Though my painting, I am trying to compare the lives of Marilyn Monroe and Silk Smitha. `

Viveek elaborates, `The two had quite a similar life. Vidya became my subject because she played Silk on the screen. I met Vidya through Shobha De and even showed her my work. `

Vidya was so impressed that apparently the actress even promised Viveek that she would attend the opening of his upcoming art show.
