Ram Gopal Varma has rubbished rumours that Antara Mali will direct his next production "Mr Ya
Miss".
Initially to have been directed by the "Satya" star Chakravarthy, the film set for a mid-April release will now
be made by Sachit Pauranik, tells Varma.
Co-scripted by Varma's own protégé Antara Mali and Raghuveer Shekhawat, "Mr Ya Miss" will star Antara
in the lead, along with Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani and Divya Dutta.
"It was Chakravarthy who was supposed to direct 'Mr Ya Miss'. But then he decided to do a black comedy
called 'Darwaza Band Rakho' for me, again with Aftab Shivdasani in the lead," Varma said.
"It was then that Pauranik stepped in. Antara was never supposed to direct 'Mr Ya Miss'. I don't know
where this rumour started."
"Mr Ya Miss" revolves around a Casanova who dies and is reborn as a woman just so that god can give
him a taste of his own medicine.
"With scripting and playing the lead, direction would've been too much for her to handle," Varma said.
"Maybe another project."
As for Aftab Shivdasani, who has bagged two of the new projects with Varma - hadn't he been sort of bitter
that the veteran filmmaker hadn't signed him up for any major film after his debut in "Mast"?
"I've no clue about actors' expectations. I only know what I expect from them and go to anyone regardless
of my personal rapport with him or her," Varma said.
