A former Gladrags model and Mr World 2001 titleholder Rajeev Singh is keeping his fingers crossed as his debut film Khamosh, a psychological thriller directed by Deepak Tijori staring Shilpa Shetty is releasing on April 15th.

Born in Jaipur this former model says, "The film is a perfect blend of commercial elements and something which is different."

Rajeev who plays the main male lead Avinash says, his is the only character in this character-driven film which helps in a role which may not have any songs to sing but he gets to do in the film what every hero does. A friend of Tijori's showed Rajeev's pictures to him and was immediately auditioned for the role of the main male lead Avinash.

"Avinash", says Rajeev, "is a medical student who is currently working as the manager of an actor. Though what Avinash does for a living now is different from what he has studied, his knowledge of medicine helps him in solving certain problems in the film. It's basically a character-driven film and since it is a psychological thriller, it plays on the psyche of each and every character and the situations they go through," explains Rajeev of his character and the film.

The film stars former models and male beauty pageant winners like Rajat Bedi, Kelly orje and Shahwar Ali. Wasn't it difficult for Rajeev to compete with so many hunks for company? He laughs, "Well, the good part is everybody got along fine." The film, which stars Shilpa Shetty in the lead role of an escort girl, has Rajeev playing her silent lover too.

Rajeev who has lent his face to many a product including L'Oreal, Bombay Dyeing and Vivaldi, says he still does ramp shows.

"I have been part of the Milan Fashion Week and those at Malaysia and Greece." He's even done a Greek music video! And pray why isn't he a part of today's hot music video scene in India and he laughs, "Well, it's so hot today that I will burn myself." With that sense of humour and good looks to match, Rajeev Singh who will be next seen with Diana Hayden and Gulshan Grover in ADA will definitely find himself firmly established in Bollywood.
