Shama Sikander began in Bollywood with some forgettable films till she had a fresh lease of life on television

She had acted in Seven a Yash Chopra production for the small screen.

She recollects about the late filmmaker, `At the beginning of my career, when he came to know that I hail from Makrana (Rajasthan) and wanted to be an actress he had quipped, 'So another Sangmarmar marble will be launched in the industry.'

At the media meet of Seven when he saw me in the corner, he called out to me and I got to stand next to him because of his kindness. I was shocked on hearing of his demise. I always dreamt of being a Yash Chopra heroine as they present their actresses beautifully.`
