Ace photographer and video director, Jagdish Mali is quite thrilled about his daughter, Antara Mali turning writer and director in two different films.

"I always knew that Antara was cut out to be a creative person but I did not want to push her into anything. She's a typical Cancerian who goes ahead with a decision once she is convinced about it and never lets it go," he says.

Antara was recently confirmed to do the scripting for R.G.V. Productions' next, to be directed by J.D. Chakravarthy. In addition, she has also been signed to direct a film for the banner.

Right now, the doting father is having a tough time trying to keep in touch with Antara, since she has put off her cell and has isolated herself from the whole world to get into the writing mode.

"It is very characteristic of her every time she is taken up with something that is close to her heart," Mali reveals.

Meanwhile the father-daughter team is now looking at starting a production house. "We have planned to call it Antara Mali Productions but that will happen only after Antara is through with the script of her first film, after which we will sit down and decide how to go about it," Mali informs.

Does that mean Antara has decided to go slow on acting? "I don't think so. She does have a few projects on hand and is in no mood to call off acting but writing is something that has always fascinated her over the years, from her early school days," Jagdish Mali reveals.
