Shahana Goswami who features in Deepa Mehta's film based on Salman Rushdie's book has always been a huge fan of the book

The actress had imagined herself playing a particular character if a movie was to be made. As luck would have it, when Deepa Mehta decided to make the film, she cast Shahana for the character she liked the most in the tome!
