When called to inaugurate the 41st International Film Festival Of India in Goa this week Akshay Kumar had only two demands, a two- minute silence for his late father-in-law at the inaugural event, and a BMW 7-Series to ply him around in Panaji during his stay.

One knows Akshay wishes the world to share in his reverence for his legendary Sasurji, hence the 2-minute silence. But one isn't sure why he would desire an expensive car.

Perhaps to feel and look important? `But he has a fleet of cars back home. Surely a BMW is not a status symbol for star of Akshay's stature?` asked one of the puzzled invitees at the Festival.


Frankly, one doesn't have an answer to that. And while we are on Akshay his inugural speech according to those privileged to be present, seemed to be going nowhere.
