On why he did not cast any big star in the film, he says, `I have worked with Emraan Hashmi in the past but this role was not suitable for him. I was searching for an actress who can look like the girl nextdoor. I had seen Tena in The Best Exotic Marigold and I loved her part so I chose to cast her.`
