John Abraham could not have asked for a more fabulous birthday. After all, the coming year is going to be perhaps his best in his Bollywood career so far. Currently, John is in Kerala shooting for his close friend Shoojit Sircar's upcoming film.
To spend time with his family on his birthday, John also flew in his folks to Kerala. He says, `I like to have a quiet birthday. I don't really like blowing candles or listening to the birthday song. It embarrasses me! My family too steers clear of big celebrations.`
The actor says his parents gift him cash sealed inside an envelope every year on this day. `The amount however keeps increasing with every year. 2012 has been good and I hope to have a fantastic year ahead, ` smiles John.
The actor feels next year will fortify his image of an action hero in the industry. And his role as dreaded gangster Manya Surve in Sanjay Gupta's next is already the talk of town. `We really did not have any super-hero earlier and Gupta's film will be a real game changer for me. He told me that I am the original raw action hero and it was a great compliment for me, ` John states.
Industry sources who have seen rushes from Gupta's film simply can't stop raving about John's on screen presence in the film. A source says, `John is looking outstanding and his dynamic presence is unmistakable.`
Come next year, John has three back-to-back releases - all action films. The actor says, `My portrayal of Surve will shock everyone. The entire credit goes to Gupta and Ekta Kapoor who is known for her marketing techniques.`
And it's not just in Gupta's film, but director Sircar feels that in his next film too, John has lined up an impressive performance. He says, `John will be seen performing different kinds of action sequences and is training in Vietnamese karate. He has also lost oodles of weight.`
