His role in "Vicky Donor" has been appreciated with a Filmfare trophy, and an elated Annu Kapoor admits such honours always help boost an actor's morale.

Still remembered for his comical act as an editor of a newspaper in hit movie "Mr. India", the actor said: "Awards always motivate and make you want to up your game."

Made at a meagre budget of Rs.5 crore, the film on sperm donation went on to become one of the top earners of 2012 by raking in Rs.45 crore. More importantly, there was no big name in the cast, which consisted of two newcomers Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam along with Annu Kapoor and other character actors.

Annu has won Filmfare award for the best supporting actor in "Vicky Donor", directed by Shoojit Sircar.

" 'Vicky Donor' will always be a very special film for me because this is the film where the story is the hero and this fact has been proven now," Annu said in a statement.

"Shoojit has done a brilliant job with the story and everyone who was a part of this film is a winner," he added.

Filmfare was Annu's second award for his "Vicky Donor" role of a funny and obsessive doctor who arranges sperm donors for those couple who are unable to have children.

Earlier, he won Screen Award for the best actor in a comic role for the same film.

An equally talented host, known for anchoring shows like "Antakshari", the 56-year-old actor will next be seen in "Yamla Pagla Deewana 2" alongside three Deols - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby.

"I am willing to entertain the people all the time as long as one character is different from another and makes me want to portray it," said Annu.
