Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has lauded the innovative manner in which the human element of the father-son relationship has been brought forth by ''Waqt: The Race Against Time'' director Vipul Shah.

Talking to reporters here, the superstar, who has played the role of a father in the film, said his role is not very challenging but Vipul Shah has tackled the character in a very interesting way.

''Any father will connect to the character,'' the Big B said of his role in the film which is Shah's second after ''Aankhen'' which had dealt with a rather unusual theme.

After ''Aankhen'', Shah is back with ''Waqt'' a family drama. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar along with Akshay's best screen partner in recent times - Priyanka Chopra and Shefali Shah.

Both the films have been based on popular Gujarati plays and have been directed in an innovative manner. ''Waqt'' will be released on Friday in Mumbai.

Akshay Kumar, whose films have spanned action thrillers to comedies, said he is eagerly awaiting the film's release, as he has found a film which he is personally passionate about.

''I am dedicating this film to my father,'' he said. ''I have bought the distribution rights not to make money but to pay tributes to my father,'' Akshay kumar said.

He stressed every father and son should watch this film. It is such a subject that it actually occurs in all of our families. And, it really amazes me that a subject like this has not been touched earlier, he said.

There have been many films on the father-son relationship, but none of the films have ever explored this ''very vital angle'', Akshay Kumar said.

Shefali Shah said she was thrilled at playing the wife's character opposite Big B. I have learnt a lot about acting while playing the character with him, she said.

Priyanka Chopra said her character in the film is not very glamorous but she is satisfied with her role.

''Waqt'' is about a father who is ready to do anything for his son. He shows the world and life to his son, but when the time comes for the son to stand on his own feet, the father doesn't have time to let that happen.

For Big B, ''Waqt'' comes close on the heels of the success of ''Black''. The film has also aroused curiousity as the Big B-Askhay Kumar pair of on-screen father-son duo was a success in ''Ek Rishta''.
