Young filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia didn't quite hit bull's eye with his bucolic parable Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost. But this setback didn't prevent Lakhia from endearing himself to the Bachchans.

The filmmaker is all set to zip off to Bangkok to shoot a new film, this time a fast-paced thriller titled Ek Ajnabee, featuring the senior Bachchan.

Says Lakhia, "The thriller is loosely based on the Hollywood film Man On Fire. Mr Bachchan plays Denzel Washington's character. Besides Mr Bachchan, I've got a wonderful cast including Arjun Rampal, Perizaad Zorabian and Vikram Chatwal playing very important roles."

Clearly excited, Lakhia says, "We're giving Mr Bachchan an entirely new look which would remind audiences of his chic appearance in his heydays. It's a start to finish quickie. We start shooting in Bangkok on May 20 and finish on June 23."

Bachchan is all set to fly off for the film next month. "It's an out-and-out thriller based on an interactive drama between me and a child actor (Ruchi). Apoorva was supposed to make another film with me but that didn't work out. Ek Ajnabee is a fast-paced film and I'm looking forward to shooting for it," enthused Bachchan.
