In what can be seen as a reflection of the India TV sting operation wherein the channel's hidden cameras caught actors Shakti Kapoor and TV star Aman Verma allegedly seeking sexual favours from an aspiring actress, as part of their endeavour to prove existence of a casting couch in the Mumbai film industry, director Shivram Yadav's forthcoming film 'Madhubala' shows a television journalist capturing on his hidden camera a film director in a compromising position with an upcoming actress.
Trades sources said the film, inspired by the Madhur Bhandarkar-Preeti Jain incident, has a scene wherein a journalist (played by the film's associate producer Rajoo Kariya) running a sting operation follows a struggling actress (played by Kanishka) to the house of a renowned director (Sameer Dharmadhikari) and shoots pictures of them in a compromising position.
''It's a crucial scene in the film wherein Rajoo Kariya plays a journalist and is running a sting operation. Sameer Dharmadhikari, playing a renowned director, calls the struggling actress (Kanishka) to his bungalow. To create a sensation out of it, Rajoo Kariya also follows them there and also calls Sameer's wife (played by former Mrs India Aditi Govitrikar),''the film's director Shivram tells.
The filmmakers, deny that in filming the scene, they were inspired by the India TV's sting operation.
''The film is based on the Preeti Jain-Madhur Bhandarkar incident which was in news last year. The sting operation scene may seem similar to the 'undercover' operation by India TV's Sohaib Ilyasi.
But frankly speaking, we had already written this scene four months back,' the film's associate director Rajoo Kariya told.
