Generations may come and generations may go. The Bachchans will still remain a class apart simply for their impeccable manners and professionalism. Director Karan Johar will certainly vouch for this fact since he has interacted with both Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan for his film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He emphasises: "Amit Uncle and Jaya Aunty were complete professionals on the sets. They did not behave like husband and wife at all." So much so, that on one occasion when Karan happened to give Jaya`s message to Amitabh, the lady reprimanded him with: "We are different artistes. In future, please don`t treat us as one. Give me a call, not him."
They even had different makeup rooms and, of course, their schedules were also far apart from one another. Karan admits: "Sometimes, I would forget that they were married until the end of the day when Amit Uncle would hug Jaya Aunty and say: `I am tired. Let`s go home`. It was amazing." Now that is we call, the tall and short of it all.
Maybe our new generation stars should take a leaf from the old book of behaviour and implement it themselves. Then producers will have only khushi and no gham on their sets!! What say, Karan?
