Kunal Roy Kapur, who features in Rohan Sippy's film, was originally to helm the project

Kunal had earlier directed The President is Coming which was produced by Rohan.

A source informs, `The two were keen to work together again and they thought this project was perfect for their second outing. But Rohan liked Kunal's acting in Delhi Belly and preferred that he be part of the cast.

Kunal confirms, `Yes, I was to direct it earlier, actually after The President is Coming. We saw the original French play from which we have adapted the movie and started working on the script. At that time Vicky Donor released and Rohan loved Ayushmann's acting and chose him.`

He adds, `I am looking forward to direct another movie soon. But the perks which come by being an actor like a vanity van and spot guys don't come with being a director.`

While Rohan states, `On the last day of the shoot of The President Is Coming I realised that I haven't used the best actor on the sets who is Kunal. So I preferred he act rather than direct.`
