Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is making her Bollywood debut with "Mere Dad Ki Maruti", says people often wonder if she has a Punjabi background.

The actress is playing the role of a Punjabi girl in the film, but is actually a Bengali.

"Everyone thinks I am Punjabi till I tell them my surname Chakraborty," said Rhea in a statement.

In the movie, she plays the role of vibrant girl, who calls herself Jazz and is a fan of international singer Shakira.

Directed by Ashima Chibber, "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" also features Ram Kapoor and Saqib Saleem in the lead role. It is set to release March 15.
