Riya Sen might be an emerging star in her own right but her innocent eyes convey the message that she is yet to come to terms with the BIG`n`BAD world of Bollywood. Coming from the Sen scion, the family that enthralled Bengali cine-lovers for almost five decades, Riya has modeled herself more on her grandmother the legendary Suchitra Sen. So, acting comes to her naturally. "She inspires me most," says the proud granddaughter, "and I would be proud if I can be like her - be it personal life or professional."
A familiar face in Indi-pop music video scene, Riya has already featured in quite a few music videos including Phalguni Pathak`s `Yaad piya ki`, Jagjit Singh and Asha Bhonsle`s `Jab samne tum` and `Kahin kahin se` which featured Lata Mangeshkar besides Jagjit and Asha. This October, Riya will be in the limelight for her Bollywood debut Style, which is directed by N. Chandra. Set in the backdrop of a College campus the film is mainly a comedy that turns into a thriller towards the end. "All the four main protagonists in the film, including me, are new in Bollywood," informs Riya, "and that`s why instead of fighting over petty things we helped each other in every possible way."
"He made the whole thing easy. There are so much of shouting and howling on the sets but he never let it affect us. He is like a father. I love him. He is adorable," the young actress confesses. An admirer of Aamir Khan Riya respects Kajol and Madhuri Dixit for their ability to create an impression even in an ordinary scene. What Next? "Well I will make my debut in Bengali film next year."
