In an effort to make sure senior members of Bollywood are remembered and rewarded for their contributions, an award will be presented to Mubarak Begum

The veteran singer will be handed a cheque of Rs 51,000 plus a trophy and shawl.

The ghazal exponent who has done playback singing for several Hindi films is remembered for songs like Mohe Aane Lagi Angrayi.

Fittingly enough, the event will be taking place today in congruence with Women's Day.
