"I don't think that decides (promotions)... the best is word of mouth publicity, " Makarand said here Tuesday in an interview.
"Your film depends on what the four people, who have watched it, say about it. If four out of five say they enjoyed it, that means in the next show you will have eight more audience. And that is how the number will go on increasing, " he added.
Set for March 22 release, "Sona Spa" deals with lack of sleep and Naseeruddin Shah plays the lead role in it.
Makarand says even happy people are deprived of sleep.
"I feel that people who are happy, are also deprived of sleep. It's not like that you have insufficiency of something, so you are deprived of sleep. You have everything, then also you are unable to sleep, " said Makarand, who has also written the film.
When asked how he stumbled upon the idea of making a film on the subject, he said: "Every one works for 18 to 20 hours and the film industry has no shifts. Our crew - like spot boy, light boy - don't know when they would sleep and wake up... And may be that's the reason that somewhere in my subconscious mind, sleep must have made me write on the subject."
