Actress Ameesha Patel, who is ready with her first production "Desi Magic," says change is important for an actor or else they may stagnate.

"Everyone goes through phases in life and change is the only constant. If you don't change, if you don't keep up with times, if you don't try and bring newness, then you become stagnant, especially as an actor," the 37-year-old said here Tuesday at a press conference held for "Desi Magic".

Ameesha's production house is co-owned by her and Kuunal Goomer.

"Desi Magic" stars Zayed Khan and Randhir Kapoor along with Ameesha, who is a gold medallist in Economics from the Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.

Recalling the time she entered Bollywood in 2000 with super duper hit "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai", Ameesha said people often questioned her decision to enter Bollywood.

"When I entered the industry, the one question that everyone asked me was, 'Ameesha you are so highly educated, you are Rajni Patel's granddaughter, why would you be here?' As if people who are brainless are in this industry," Ameesha said and added that she has proved herself as an actress too.

Last seen in "Race 2", she will soon be seen in "Shortcut Romeo", "Run Bhola Run" and "Bhaiyyaji Superhitt".
