Films on superheroes never go out of fashion. While Hollywood has made around 100-plus different films based on them since Superman (1978), Bollywood too is trying to keep up with projects like the Krrish franchise

Joining the bandwagon is a Punjabi superhero who is all set to make his jump to the big screen.

Writer-director Saurabh Varma who has just completed a comic thriller starring Manish Paul is planning a film on an unconventional superhero called Raftaar Singh Superfast with a fetish for samosas.

`He is not your conventional superhero saving the world. It is about a man who discovers his own self in a very humourous way, ` says Saurabh.

Varma has been working on the project for the last two years and the film is slated to go on floors by the end of this year. `This would be India's first superhero comedy. For a majority of Indians, Shaktimaan still personifies the desi superhero, ` sums up the debutant director.
