US based Time magazine has unveiled its list of 100 most influential people in the world for the year 2013 where Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has successfully found a place along with other global icons like Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai.
Indian musical maestro AR Rehman wrote on Time: "In a world of false diplomacy and evasiveness, Aamir is a straightforward man. A man of his word. His movies are commercial successes - Lagaan was nominated for an Academy Award - but they also display a sense of social responsibility: they tackle important themes, like poverty and education."
"His TV show, Satyamev Jayate, is part journalism and part talk show, and it confronts India's deepest social ills, from sexual abuse to caste discrimination. He uses his gifts as a charmer to give his audience the most bitter medicine. Hypnotized, we take it without complaint. That's Aamir's magic at work, " he wrote.
The list also features people like actress Jennifer Lawrence, American first lady Michelle Obama and Malala Yousafzai.
Moreover, the Bollywood actor also featured in one of the seven special edition covers of the 2013 Time 100 issue.
Last year, Aamir had made it to the cover of the Time magazine after achieving significant response from the Indian audience for his television programme "Satyamev Jayate".
