For Ramya, it is a dream come true. She is finally sharing screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in his first Kannada, indeed south Indian, film.

An earlier proposal to work with the Big B did not materialize after initial discussions. Ramya was to have played the superstar's daughter in a Hindi film under Anil Sharma's direction.

Sharma and the film's producer had flown to Bangalore for discussions with Ramya and she had even allotted dates. But nothing came out of the negotiations.

It's different this time. Ramya is finally being paired with the Big B.

Amitabh has already worked four days for the Kannada film "Amrutha Dhare", directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar. The shooting has been done in Mumbai.

Just days earlier, Kamal Haasan had accepted a role in "Rama Bhama Shama" directed by Ramesh. It would seem to be the day of the big stars for Kannada cinema.
